What are Centres in Human Design??

OKAY Let’s talk about undefined centres in your Human Design chart.

Your centre is undefined if it is white and not coloured in. Each centre holds a different meaning and energetic significance. When a centre is undefined it means that your energy in this specific area is inconsistent and that you are more easily impacted by others in this area. When a centre is coloured in and therefore defined, it means that your energy in this area is more consistent and you are less impacted by others.

If it helps, you can think of the colours in your defined centres as blocks to external influences, and the white in the open centres as open space for other energy to come in./

Today we are going to go through each centre and the energy that each of them hold. In following posts we will go through each centre more specifically and what it means to have it defined or undefined.

So grab your chart and let’s get started!

ROOT CENTRE - this is a motor and pressure centre. It creates pressure in the body to get us going and taking action. This is the energy that pushes you to start your to do list, get out of bed…

SOLAR PLEXUS - this is an awareness and motor centre. It helps us process emotions, thoughts and feelings while creating motion, energy and movement.

SACRAL - this is a motor centre. If you have this centre defined it automatically means you are a Generator or Manifesting Generator energy type. This is because this is the centre that holds our creativity, desire, and consistent energy to create and do.

SPLEEN - this is an awareness centre. This centre is all about our survival instincts, our gut reactions, our fears and inner knowings. It’s that small, quiet voice inside of you that tells you - “do this, go there, avoid that person…”

EGO - this is a motor centre. This is the centre that drives motivation and willpower. It is the centre that says - I want what I want and I have the motivation to go out and do it.

G CENTRE - this is an identity centre. This centre holds our sense of identity and direction. It is a fairly elusive and mystical centre, in some ways holding together our entire design.

THROAT - this is the manifestation centre. This centre is home to our voice, it gives us the ability to speak our truth, to speak our dreams into existence, and to express ourselves.

AJNA - this is an awareness centre. This centre is where we observe, form opinions and points of views and perspectives.

CROWN - this is the second pressure centre. This centre brings energy in from the external world and is where we source our inspiration and thoughts.

okayyy so there is the very basic foundational knowledge of each centre. I would love to know - what centres are you most curious about learning about? What questions do you have? What do you want to learn more about?
