Let me start by sharing a bit about my own journey with tarot. I've been fascinated by it for a long time, but hesitant to dive in deeply. There’s a common belief that someone has to gift you your first tarot deck and for a while I let that stop me. But eventually, I found a deck that resonated with me, and I decided to embrace the magic on my own terms. That decision opened a whole new realm of self-discovery for me, and it has been a special ritual for me ever since.

Katie shared that initially not many people in her life knew she read tarot. She purposely kept it quiet out of the fear of judgment from others. It was only after she started reading professionally and felt more confident with the practice itself that she started to share this sacred practice with the people in her life.

Tarot has such an underestimated impact.

After 5 years of reading cards, Katie shared that she has come to believe, like me, that tarot is a powerful tool to guide us back to our true selves. We discussed how tarot can align us with our intuition and connect us to greater spiritual energies, whether we identify them as spirit guides, the universe, or something else.

One thing Katie reiterated was the importance of listening to your intuition during the tarot pulling process. She said "When you pull a tarot card, the message it carries might not always be crystal clear initially. The value of trusting this process and using your intuition to interpret the messages is essential to a successful reading. Tarot isn't about predicting a set future; it's about guiding you to make empowered choices in your life".

And then she showed me exactly what she meant, in real time.

Katie pulled a card for all of us to showcase exactly how intuition plays a pivotal role. As I watched her shuffle & select her cards in her own way, Katie emphasised that there’s no one right way to do it—it's all about what feels right for you in that moment. She listens and waits for one to speak to her, or sometimes, she lets the cards fall out on their own. It was clear that this was a deeply intuitive process as I witnessed her reflecting the energy and flow of the moment.

One of the cards Katie pulled immediately resonated with the themes of our discussion.

The card was "Heart Home – Compassion." which reflects the importance of feeling at home within ourselves and trusting our intuitive journey. This journey isn't always easy. Katie shared she overcame the fear that once prevented her from fully embracing her tarot practice. It was enlightening to hear that the turning point for her was eventually finding that sharing her gift made it more sacred, not less. We talked about how our own shadows—our fears and doubts—can be overcome through intuitive guidance. Just like the "negative cards" in the tarot, like the Tower card, they actually carry profound messages about transformation and growth that are essential to helping us on the path to living authentically.

Of course, we talk about the practical stuff too like how to handle reversed cards or what to do when you don't understand a card's message. Katie’s advice was clear. She said "there is no wrong or right way to read tarot. It's all about what feels right for you and trusting your intuition to guide you".

As Katie pointed out, the journey of self-discovery and connecting with our intuition is never-ending. It's about constantly being curious about who we are and embracing all parts of ourselves—the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's about turning inward and finding acceptance and love for ourselves as we are.

Katie beautifully echoed the core message of living intuitively wild: make a decision and stand by it with every fiber of your being, because you know deep down it’s the right choice for you. This kind of deep self-awareness and confidence can only come from a strong, loving connection with oneself.

If you want to connect with Katie, you totally should!
