A Ritual For The Full Moon In Taurus
Prioritise your nourishment…
On November 15th we have the Taurus Full Moon.
This Full Moon is a time ripe with power, potency and presence. It is asking us to be clear on what we need to release, grieve, and complete in order to prioritise our peace, protection and progress.
If you would like to listen to the full ritual, head over to the podcast. There we go deeper on the history, traditions and energy of this time.
for now, let’s get into the ritual …
RITUAL
To initiate the beginning of your ritual, light your candles and state an intention out loud and/or take a moment of silence to shift into the energy.
We start by setting the mood through this energy shift and setting up our altar.

ALTAR SUGGESTIONS
colours - dark, nourishing, warming, earthy colours
ether - place any items that honour your ancestors, spirit guides, spirits, universe, any entities you connect to or believe in
water - ice: place ice in a glass and let it melt. this symbolises the changing seasons and the mutable transformative energy of this time
air - lavender incense: lavender is healing, releasing, clearing, clarifying. If you would like, you can walk around your space to clear your space, let go of old, bring in new
fire - candles - I shared this in this youtube video but, recently, every new moon I've been burning my intentions from the last month in a new candle. I will then use this candle throughout the month. This is a reminder that those intentions are still unfolding, and expanding, and yet I do not need to worry or focus on them. So the candle I will light for this full moon ritual, is the candle that holds last months intentions that are continuing to unfold and expand
earth - root vegetables, leaves, grounding crystals and rocks

YOGA THERAPY TOOLS
Brahmari / Bee Buzzing Breath -
Find a comfortable seated position.
Place your hands over your eyes. Plug your ears with your thumbs and use your other four fingers to cover your eyes.
Alternatively, you can place your hands in an intentional position that feels grounding and supportive to you - you could place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly, both hands on your heart, your hands face down or face up on your knees… find a position that feels in alignment with the energy you are feeling or wanting to cultivate.
Then, close your eyes and gently start to inhale through your nose. Then, exhale through your nose while making a humming sound. Try to elongate your exhale for as long as you can. Do this for as many rounds as you would like.
The goal is to tune out the external stimulus and tune into the vibrations moving throughout your body as you breathe.
This will prepare you for our meditation practice.
Meditation for when you’re feeling resistance to trying something new, doing something different, or sharing your experiences -
This form of meditation is an inquiry, an adventure within yourself. It is not about forcing, controlling, or perfecting. Do it however feels easeful and natural to you. You don’t even need to see it as a meditation - you don’t even need to close your eyes if that doesn’t feel right for you. To begin, find a comfortable position where you can let yourself feel grounded, at ease, and connected. Start with a few deep breaths and allow yourself to go inwards.
When you are ready ask yourself - what wants to come out of hiding?
Sit with that question.
If you feel your mind wander, come back to the question - what wants to come out of hiding?
Name it, fully accept and acknowledge it. If you keep coming back to this meditation, eventually you will be guided by your intuition to how to move forward and “deal with” what wants to come out of hiding.
The work is to relax and trust that whatever you need to see will show up, you just need to be open and allow.
Once we see what needs attention, we can release it, work with it, transform it, and that supports our process of transformation and letting go.

HERBAL COMPANIONS
rosemary - rosemary is for clearing, cleansing, releasing. it ensures that the energy surrounding you is supportive and aligned and grounded.
nettle - this herb promotes fierce boundaries. It will give you the push you need to take action and the confidence to stay rooted in your decisions and who you are. It pushes you outside of your comfort zone to do what you need to do, what is meant for you. At the same time, it provides a sense of comfort, nourishment and support.
lemon balm - this plant helps ground you in the present moment. It keeps you focused on what is happening for you right now. It also supports mental and emotional wellbeing.

JOURNAL PROMPTS
Look back on your journal entry from the equinox ritual (listen here, or read about it, here) - in that ritual we did an activity that had us creating categories for our life in order to understand our intentions and the nourishment needed for each
Check in - do you feel nourished? have you been acting on these intentions? does anything need to shift or be recommitted to? If you haven't done that ritual yet, or want to redo it, this would be a perfect time
those answers will inform our next activity...
REFLECTIONS
This is a month to prepare for the new year. We want to reflect on what transpired so far this past year, starting to release and let go as we move into hibernation mode and enter the new year portal. Take this time to mourn and release anyone and anything that is not bringing you joy, aligned with your desires or supporting your growth — anything that is not nourishing you — so that you are ready to enter the new year clear, confident and connected
a practice —-
write a letter to an old version of self ...
that you are letting go of and ready to release, thank them for all they brought to you, what they taught you, share feelings and emotions, anything that needs to come out to fully release and let go, then say goodbye, feel free to burn this letter
write a letter to the new version of yourself...
write about all you are excited to do together, what this next chapter is bringing, as much as possible write in the present tense as if you are already embodying and embracing this version, as if these things are happening or are beginning to happen.

INTENTIONS
November is a time to put ourselves first. An inward process. An internal portal.
We need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves and our needs and understanding who we are and what we need so we can enter winter with our foundation steady.
We need to let it all shed so we go into winter clear.
MANTRAS
I release with reverence
I surrender to the present moment
I prioritise my peace and protection
INTENTION
I am all I need. I am my priority
WORDS
protection, peace, processing, priorities
I hope this ritual serves you. I hope it brings you exactly what you need to put yourself first, and focus on your needs.
A clear inner focus and strong self connection, we build a steady foundation. With a steady foundation we can take on the world with alignment, authenticity, and intention.
